OrCom week is not complete without the OrComlympics!
Written by Jean Baguion

OrComSoc has recently concluded its yearly OrCom Week, centered around the theme “Metropolis: Pioneering New Avenues of Communication.” The week was brimming with enjoyable and thrilling activities exclusively for OrCom students to enjoy. One of its most anticipated events is the OrComlympics, which was finally held face-to-face for the second time since the pandemic.
The event started with an energizing warm-up led by the JVP for Projects and Operations, Alleoh Cerdeña. Each group had its own representatives, eagerly vying for the championship. Each team was associated with a distinct color: green for freshmen, yellow for sophomores, red for juniors, and blue for seniors. Everyone was fired up, as the games had not even started yet, and they’d already showcased their talents with their creative cheers. The court was definitely hyped up with their performances.
There were four games to win, which were the multi-legged race, tic-tac-shoot, finish the puzzle, and catch the dragon tail. All teams were competitive, as the SSWC was filled with shouts and cheers from the players. They were even more energized by the snacks provided by the Executive Committee. In the end, the team that won the OrComlympics 2023 was the sophomore batch. This is their second time winning the title, and rumor says they’re even up for the grand slam!
