The Road Ahead

Written by Joshua Emmanuel Go

When you go for a drive there are many things you want to cast away while on the road. Many problems and troubles that haunt you go away and the only thing you can focus on is the present. While this is not always a bad thing, it only narrows your horizons instead of seeing what else is there for you to see. Widening your horizons helps in solving problems for the future and present you.

Sure, you have a goal but there should always be a break in achieving a bit of a detour to smell the roses and other such things. It may not be what you wanted but what you needed.

It’s not something you could always do alone and having companions on your journey would be for the best. Keeping troubles all bottled up would do more harm than good and would eventually lead to something of a breakdown and stagnation in reaching your goals and dreams.

But, it’s not all that bad. There are many ways to work on it. When all the troubles are gone or at least taken care of, then what you thought was hard would be a breeze and all the obstacles in your way would be opportunities to discover.

Most of the time, this, while optimistic, is real. Because while it is a given to give up and fail at many things, it is more important to know when to get back up after the accidents and wrong turns life gives you. It may not be a perfect run and you may get injured too but overall, it makes you cherish these moments of success and hardship, of failure and perseverance, and of the first moments of your life to the last.

The road to the future may never be as smooth as we always hope for it to be. It would always be rough around the edges. But if there is hope, it would be something to cherish until the end when you finally reach your destination.
