Bragging Rights
Written By Veronica Medrano
And there you have it, 17 weeks and 56 articles later, we’re down to our last one. I really can’t remember the first time I started thinking about plans for the blog in my head. I just knew that as someone who had her fair share of Tumblr blogging in ‘11, there might be something nice I could input right? This couldn’t be something different, I said. Was I wrong though?
Now, first thing on the agenda was the elephant in the room, the old and tacky theme and non-existent domain. Finally, we have a fucking domain. Still so proud of these little modifications that helped us become more legit. That probably less than 2k worth of investment gave us more motivation to legitimize ourselves and bring justice to what we’re putting out there.
Then goes committee restructuring, which I think was something that should have been done years ago. Honestly, if it weren’t for this, I would have cracked myself.
OrCom Blog is a collaborative blog. It is a product of all the effort and creativity my members have. It’s not even mine to brag about but here I am, trying to give you a backdrop of how it changed. I hope through this, you’d get to understand how each writer and web developer contributed to making it what it is. Hindi siya perfect, marami pa ring mga kulang. Pero it’s something I would always treasure, something I would keep on my resume and happily explain that I led a great and reliable group. I would never forget those days when I was already giving up on all my responsibilities, ready to call those weekly postings off, yet my writers did not fail me. I would see articles submitted on each Google Drive folder. What the hell? How could I stop knowing I have these passionate writers, these writers who may have also lost it along the way but still managed to put up an article?
It’ s not mine to brag about but my members deserve it.
