OrComida: Robinsons Place Manila (Splurge Edition)

Written by Annabella Garcia

Finally getting the flow of your subjects this semester? Happy about how your data gathering is coming along? Kayo na ba? (Are you finally together?) Bottom line is, do you feel like splurging out today on your one true love? (Nope! Not him/her, but food!) Whatever reasons you may have for treating yourself this one fine day, don’t worry, we got you covered!

To commemorate the first entry of our Orcomida: Food Crawl series this 2017, we are starting off again with UP Manila students’ beloved hangout spot – Robinsons Place Manila!

If you’re feeling Japanese: Ippudo

A big fan of ramen? Ippudo, the famous ramen chain from New York, is known to be one of the best in town. Whether it’s their classic Shiromaru Motoaji, their spicy Karaka-men, or even their deep-friend gyoza, your stomach will be in for a spiritual Japanese food experience. Enjoy every slurp of their broth as they do not allow take-outs.

If you’re feeling Korean: Kyochon

Annyeonghaseyo! With chicken as sweet as their endorser’s smile, Lee Min Ho, Kyochon is simply unforgettable. May it be their original soy garlic glazed chicken, honey glazed chicken, or spicy chicken, you just cannot help but to keep coming back for more. Not to mention the K-Pop music videos playing in their establishment, a daebak (awesome) experience indeed!

If you’re feeling Chinese: Tim Ho Wan

Tagged as “the world’s cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant” by Trip Advisor, Hong Kong’s Tim Ho Wan is widely known for their golden, savory pork buns (3 pieces for only P145.) But the savory awesomeness doesn’t just stop there! We highly recommend their prawn dumplings (or locally known as hakaw) and pork dumplings with shrimp – two lovely dishes that will amaze your taste buds.

If you’re feeling Italian: Italianis

Mamma mia! This 20-year-old restaurant, managed by the same company as TGI Friday’s, has grown to be a favorite by the Filipino lot. From their handmade pizza to the spaghetti al pomodoro and panna cotta, you will leave the restaurant with only one thought: delizioso!

If you’re feeling Filipino: Mary Grace

Nothing says comfort food like our own cuisine. Mary Grace started first as a kiosk. With their cheese rolls and ensaymadas paired with their signature hot chocolate being popular picks, Mary Grace expanded now into a cafe. Whether it’s a Filipino breakfast for two or Italian-influenced dishes, Mary Grace will never fail to make your heart (and stomachs) full.
